Event: Lee Kip Lin House Tour

Docomomo Singapore invites you to join us for a rare opportunity to visit the house of the late Mr. Lee Kip Lin.

— The tickets are now sold out —

Mr. Lee Kip Lin was a pioneer architect and architectural historian. Located in Bukit Timah area, the house is a simple and sophisticated house built in the early 1970s. Through centrifugally configured spaces and devices such as verandah, apertures, and courtyards, the house opens into the garden.

The visit will be on 26 March 2022. There are two time slots:

  • 2pm - 3.30pm: a few seats left

  • 4pm - 5.30pm

At the tour, Mr. Lee’s son Peng Hui and Dr. Lai Chee Kien (author of Through the Lens of Lee Kip Lin, 2015) will provide short introductions to the design of the house and Mr. Lee’s life and work.

  • All visitors are expected to take a same-day ART test. The organisers will email all visitors a short passphrase 24 hours before the gathering. Please take a photograph of your ART test together with a small piece of paper with the passphrase written next to it. On that day, we will check the photograph before the start of the event.

  • All visitors are strongly encouraged to take public transportation to get to the house. The house is near the main road’s bus stop and it is a short walk from King Albert Park MRT station. There is no street parking outside the house and there will be no parking in the house.

  • The ticket price is $10 for Docomomo members and $20 for the public.
